Health Education Study

What will I do each month?
Every month you will complete a short survey, a weigh-in on your connected scale, a FaceScan and BodyScan in the Noom app, and — at the start of the study and at months 2, 4, 8, and 12 — an at-home Tasso blood collection. Most months this takes about 10 minutes. Full-battery survey months — the start of the study and months 4, 8, and 12 — take about 30 minutes.

What are the weekly newsletters?
As part of your participation, you will receive a weekly health and wellness newsletter via the Chloe app for the full 12 months of the study. These newsletters are based on a program developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Will I have access to the Noom app?
Yes, but only for the purpose of research data including FaceScan, BodyScan, Weight, and sharing your blood biomarker results with you. The education group does not receive access to the standard Noom app or any Noom standard program features.

Do I get a wearable device?
Yes. You will receive a free wearable fitness tracker. Wear it continuously throughout the study. It tracks your resting heart rate, sleep quality, and stress indicators in the background with no extra effort from you. Once a month, sync the device to make sure all your data has been captured.

Compensation: You can earn up to $820 total over 12 months.

Paid Research Study on Alcohol, Substance Use, and Stress through Syracuse University

  Syracuse University is conducting a study on stressful events and alcohol and substance use. Participation would involve completing surveys and interview assessments for 2 hours with the research team.   You can participate online or in-person in Syracuse, NY.   If you are 18 – 65 years old, drink alcohol, have experienced a stressful life event, agree to consent to audio recording, live within the U.S. and have a valid email address, you may be eligible to participate!
