What if something goes wrong?
If you are harmed due to your participation in this study, there will be no specific compensation arrangements. You might have a case if someone's negligence causes you harm, but there may be expenses involved. However, you should be able to use the standard University complaint procedures if you would like to file a complaint or have any issues regarding any part of how you have been approached or handled throughout this study.
What should I do if I have any concerns or complaints?
If you have any questions, concerns or complaints regarding anything to do with this study, you can initially approach the Lead Investigator, Nkiruka Emodi or her supervisors - Dr Zoe Palfreyman, Dr Blessing Marandure and Dr Theodoros Parthymos.
Will taking part in this study be kept confidential?
All data collected during the research will be stored in a password-protected database and kept strictly confidential. Throughout the study, the Lead researcher will oversee the data. The data will only be accessible to the Lead researcher. Access may also be necessary for the Faculty Head of Research Ethics to verify that the study was carried out following the approval. All the data for this study will be published as group statistics.
What will happen to the results of the research study?
The findings will be documented as part of a PhD thesis and submitted for publication.
If required, you may request a copy of the findings from the Lead researcher mentioned above via email, and it will be given to you.
