Applications are now open for the Researcher Challenges Grants 2026 under the British Council's Going Global Partnerships programme.
These grants support collaborative international research between the UK and partner institutions in Egypt, Brazil, Morocco, and Palestine to address pressing global challenges through interdisciplinary research and capacity building.
Grant amount: Up to £40,000
Grant duration: 12 months (starting January 2027)
Eligibility: UK higher education institutions and not-for-profit research institutions partnering with eligible institutions in Egypt, Brazil, Morocco, or Palestine
Research themes: Climate change, sustainable energy transitions, public health, food security, and AI for development
Application deadline: 17 September 2026, 11:00 a.m. BST
